Opening up a new chapter in your life seems to make you wonder two main things. Where has the time gone? and Where will the future lead me? Thinking about this I have to wonder if we had the power to either travel back in time or look into the future which one would we choose.
The past is something that is never coming back and the only connection to it are fond memories of what our lives used to be. If we could travel back in time reliving the same moments would we feel bored by the feeling of repetition or would we enjoy our fondest memories as much as we did the first time? I personally think reliving certain events would be kind of rewarding sometimes. It’s like your favorite movie where you can watch it a number of times and still enjoy it. Than again sometimes in life don’t we feel like we’re living a little deja vu anyway.
The future is a little more tricky. After all the future is very unstable unlike the past which will remain the same for all of eternity. If our futures were planned out only by what our actions are now would we be happy with the consequences or would we feel like some changes need to be made with our lives in the presence?
For me I don’t mind a little predictability and repeating now and again. A rewind button to relive my fondest memories of high school and life would be my choice at this point in my life but that is probably just because of the fear I have of the unknown that is the future. Well these are the thoughts that flow through your head when your waiting for college to start and most of your friends have already started. Sorry to the few of you who have to read through this haha.
